Joshua Gallien Made History for Vista Peak

Joshua Gallien made history for Vista PEAK Preparatory this spring, becoming the school’s first-ever boys track and field state champion.

Competing in the Class 5A state championships , Gallien put together a standout performance in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line in 47.03 seconds to capture the state title. His time was more than two-tenths of a second faster than the runner-up.

But Gallien’s championship run was about more than just one race.

He also finished fifth in the 200 meters and seventh in the 100 meters, showing his speed and consistency across multiple events against some of the best sprinters in Colorado.

The 400-meter victory gave Vista PEAK a milestone moment. Gallien became the first boys track athlete in school history to bring home an individual state championship, putting his name in the record books and leaving behind a legacy for future Vista PEAK athletes.

For Gallien, the championship was the result of the work he put in throughout the season. His ability to compete at a high level in three sprinting events made him one of the state’s standout athletes and helped make his final high school track season one to remember.

Now, his name will forever be connected to a historic moment at Vista PEAK.

Joshua Gallien is a state champion and the first boys track state champion in Vista PEAK history.
