Denver-Co Denver East Holds Off Regis Jesuit in Overtime Thriller

Denver East and Regis Jesuit went down to the wire Friday night, with the Angels coming away with a 95-92 overtime win.

It was a close game from start to finish. Neither team was able to pull away for long, and every possession became important as the game got closer to the final buzzer.

Regis Jesuit came into the game at 4-3, while Denver East was looking to get back to .500 at 4-4. Both teams played with plenty of energy, trading baskets and making plays on both ends of the court.

When the game went to overtime, Denver East stayed composed.

Landon Edwards was one of the biggest reasons why.

Edwards came up with big plays when the Angels needed them most, including important baskets late in the game. He also made plays defensively and helped Denver East keep its lead during the extra period.

In a game where one possession could decide everything, Edwards continued to make his presence felt.

The win moves Denver East to 4-4 on the season. The Angels will now turn their attention to Chaparral, which comes into Wednesday's matchup with a 7-1 record.

Regis Jesuit drops to 4-3 and will look to get back on track Saturday when the Raiders travel to Cherokee Trail. For Denver East, the biggest takeaway is simple: when the game got tight, the Angels found a way to finish it.

And on Friday night, Edwards was right in the middle of it.
